“God Doesn’t Come And Go”

Standard

READ:

O Jacob, how can you say the LORD does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:27-31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “ GOD has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? GOD doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon GOD get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:27-31‬ ‭MSG‬‬

REFLECT:

Do you ever find yourself raising the same complaints as Israel? Have you made the same angry claims to God, in moments of frustration and chaos?

“God doesn’t come and go. God lasts.” Why does this truth change everything? Does it encourage you to know that God doesn’t ever need a “breather” or a break from you? You cannot exhaust God!

Where do you find yourself this week? Are you soaring, running, walking… or maybe crawling? Have you been striving in your own weakness, when the Father offers you his everlasting strength?

Our Father is the “Creator of all you can see or imagine”. Do you believe that God wants to do greater things with and for you than you can fathom?

PRAY:

Father, your love for us never fails and never grows weary. Thank you for being the Creator and Author, unimaginable in your wonder, and yet so close. We thank you, Jesus, for finding us when we were lost. You have poured out your life to fill us with righteousness and bring us to the Father. And to you, Holy Spirit, we give our thanks and praise for the wind in our lungs. It is by your power that we can soar, run, and walk faithfully. Abba, Christ, and Spirit, you are so wonderful. You are the everlasting God, to you be the glory. Amen.
